Dwell with Diginity Reveal 2013

Another great collaboration between the DFW Chapter of the Interior Design Society and Dwell with Dignity came together to fulfill a families need for a home.  We were blessed to have been offered the opportunity to once again assist a family in need going through the program at Family Gateway in Dallas.

This year's family included a mother and father with three beautiful little girls.

The volunteers never get to meet the family before the design of a space.  This space was designed to emanate energy and happiness.  After meeting the family....it was the perfect space for them!

I mean who wouldn't love an orange Chevron print chair?

With the floor plan being an open concept, the colorful energy continues into the dining and kitchen.

A cheery table setting for your their first meal together in their new home.

The family bathroom had a generous makeover including new stone counter tops donated by A&A Granite.  Thanks CJ!

Bunk beds were the perfect space saver so the girls had room to play.  My daughter was thrilled to donate her beloved Barbie house to a home in which we knew the girls would get a lot of use out of it!

Having three girls means you can go all out with the pink!

The baby's crib complete with custom pillows and a new teddy bear!

The mater bedroom was truly a peaceful retreat for a deserving husband and wife.

Down to the last detail.

A fellow designer and I recovered the headboard for the perfect pop against the white wall.

My two favorite art pieces of the entire project.  The paper mache dog was always cute, but inappropriately covered in wine art.  One of the designers recovered it with comics so it is very family friendly and even more cute with the bright colors.  The framed art behind the dog was a brilliant creation using paper tubes for the background.  I will let you try to figure that one out!

Myself with fellow designers Jodell Clarke, IDS Community Service Chair and Sheri Martin, IDS Community Service Co-Chair.
Having the ability to participate in such a life changing event is so fulfilling.  If you are looking for a way to get involved please take a look at the Dwell with Dignity website and make a difference.

Color Spectrum....a Design Inspiration

Every market has inspirational colors that really get the design imagination moving. Some colors are meant to shock while others touch the senses. Whichever end of the color spectrum you fall on, you're sure to enjoy these inspiring pallets from High Point Market.

Fresh, cheery and fun...yet relaxing at the same time.

This art has a beautiful iridescent sheen that kept
drawing me in....I finally gave in and took a picture!

Perky little pink prints!

Does this remind you of something your kids have done?
It would make a great inspiration piece for an entire room.

Look around, find your color inspiration!
